Lesson 60: “God is the Love in which I forgive.” “God is the strength in which I trust.” “There is nothing to fear.” “God’s Voice speaks to me all through the day.” “I am sustained by the Love of God.”
We can take such comfort in knowing God’s Voice is within us at every step. I know we can feel anxious when we rely on our ego’s dictate. The ego makes us never be able to count on it for direction. It never keeps us safe. God has a plan in place, and all we have to do is be willing to listen. We don’t even have to make effort to figure out how to move. God always gives us total direction. We just have to be willing to stop and listen to His gentle counsel.
When we are sustained by the Love of God, then nothing is impossible. The Love of God is the true miracle because nothing is impossible when we apply it. The Love of God is the thing that makes everything a blessing. When we allow this perfect Love to permeate all we do, everything we do becomes our greatest happiness and the most serene peace. We just have to know that this Love is the most incredible part of what we can do. Allow this Love to be the answer to all that ails us.
This lesson says, “I forgive all things because I feel the stirring of His strength in me.” We are asked to forgive everything. We can have profound resistance to forgiving. We have those people who are “special” that feel way beyond the possibility of this action. Forgiveness can be so far out of the spectrum of what we can manage because we have felt especially triggered by something someone did.
This is especially were we need to be liberated and where we need to be out of our anger and resentment about their actions. This is the number one most difficult thing to do. But think about how good it feels when we do forgive with the help of God this unwanted gesture that this person did. We feel free at last because we aren’t harboring this hate within us and replaying over and over in our minds because the ego won’t let it go.
Even sometimes we clearly don’t want to continue suffering over this issue but we just can’t make forgiveness work in our mind’s eye. This is when we have to turn to God for the support in making the forgiving energy work within us and teach us how to carry forgiveness into this forbidden land of hate in our hearts. God can give us the gentleness with which to approach this enormous task of forgiveness and we can make it ours with a simple request.
