ACIM Lesson 355

Lesson 355: “What am I?”  “There is no end to all the peace and joy, and all the miracles that I will give, when I will accept God’s word.  Why not today?”

The Course reminds us to open our minds and be open to suggestion.

We learn how to ask questions.

We learn how to make that inner inquiry about everything.

The problem with the ego is that it likes to maintain its status quo.  The ego likes to make everything the same, the same, the same.

The ego likes rigidity and control because this keeps a tight hook on how we live our lives.

The Course is that breath of fresh air that we have been craving like a maniac.

The Course gives us that foot in the door so we can just stabilize ourselves and get to a changing mode.

The whole key to having a happy and light state of mind is to change our minds.

We must open our minds about whatever the ego has locked away in its tight grasp.

All we need to do is be open to changing.

We don’t have to do anything but have that smallest amount of willingness.

This is the way out of our misery.  We must be available to listen to something else besides the ego’s same, sad song.  We just have to question this.

Even if we can’t find the courage to shift dramatically at the get go, all we have to do is have even the smallest question in our minds, “Do I want this?”

When we entertain the thinking, this initiates the momentum of God who can follow with a swift and light, powerful energy of forgiveness and certainty that comes to fill our minds when we have that initial hit that something could be better.

Why not today? opens our minds to the fact that we can have God this very instant.  We don’t have to wait for anything.  The blessing is that as the Course reminds us that God is available now.

There is no moment where God is not and that is why we just need to do it now because we can.

We always like to keep the ego’s status quo and one of the ego’s depressing predictions is that it will take until we are enlightened to get to God.

It can seem like God is so far in the future, we then never get to God.  That is depressing.  The Course says that we don’t have to wait on anything to get to God.

This news rocks my world.

We just need to remember to ask if we want God now.  Then the question itself will get us as close to God as possible because it leads us out of the ego’s tight control.

The question gets us to question the ego.

That is the way to God.  Anything that is not the ego is God.

Bob, Your note made me smile. Glad we are both equally moved by God. Blessings, friend.
