Lesson 209: Review: “I am not a body.  I am free.  For I am still as God created me.”  “I feel the love of God within me now.”

Lesson 189 says, “Your part is simply to allow all obstacles that you have interposed between the Son and God the Father to be quietly removed forever.”   

God will do His part from there and take whatever final steps we need to do get to our goal and end result of joining God. 

We are learning to just get out of the way. 

The ego makes constant obstacles and we can be stunned at all the blocks in our way.  The ego is great at giving us the sob stories and true pain in our human perspective.  We can end up with all the distractions.

But we are asked to rise above this and keep choosing God again.  It works when we continue to do it.  

One of the absolutely important aspects of this request in the Course is that we are asked to take God’s approach and be gentle and delicate in the process. 

The ego makes us feel heavy and dense and controlling and fierce.

God is always of the utmost powerful subtlety.

God is always supremely powerful, but His whole energy is gentle and never pushing us around or being inappropriate in any way we would not want God to be. 

That means we can rely on God to be our best friend.  We can trust God to always be there for us and this is a relief in itself, but the truly extraordinary thing is that we can count on God to be always gentle with us.

There is not a pushy energy or feeling in the essence of God. 

That means we can trust God to be our favorite dream come true in the confidant we want to have.

The fact that we can trust God implicitly means we don’t have to battle in any instance in our lives where we come across God. 

That means we don’t have to do anything we don’t want to do.

God is never pressuring us.  He never forces His Will on us.

God wants us to know He has as much time as we want, and if we want to take lifetimes to get to Him, that is OK with Him. 

God will never judge us or be angry or resentful.  That kind of response from God never happens because He is the perfect Father and perfect loved one, who gives us all the space we need to do our own thing and have our own process.  God wants us to come when it works for us.

God says that He will do us the favor of doing the most splendid thing of removing all the obstacles in our minds and do it in a quiet way. 

God will never be hard on us in any shape or form because we still get stuck.

And if God wanted to do battle with us and tried to pry away our obstacles without our OK then the ego would hold on more tightly to these obstacles because the ego is always looking for a further excuse to be severe. 

This is why it is a pure blessing that God would only approach us with His gentle touch and never force us to do anything.
