Courageous Communication: A Handbook for Emotional Intimacy
A. Imagine breathing to release feeling:
We can take a deep breath and imagine that the anger is processed through our bodies by inhaling and is sent out back to the Universe on the exhale. We can stay focused on our breaths while we allow the anger to run its course. It dissipates as we acknowledge it and allow it to fade away from our minds. Breath works magically when we want to let something go from our insides. Breathing is usually automatic and when we follow it through the in and out it leads us to a more relaxed almost hypnotic state where we feel calm and in control of our power in the situation. Our power to change our minds is emphasized when we recognize we are in the place of having power.
