Lesson 34: “I could see peace instead of this.”

In yesterday’s lesson, we made the critical step of realizing that we have a variety of options in what we perceive.  We aren’t automatically sorted into a fixed category.  The possibilities are much more fluid than that.  We learn that we aren’t necessarily having to take the ego’s angle on how to see the world.

All we have to do is have the willingness to want something more or different.  Then the Holy Spirit has our spiritual ammunition to reroute us into an alternate position from which we steer in a wholly new direction.  We just have to have the smallest willingness and trust that the Holy Spirit will provide us with a way out the door into a reality of untold beauty.

We just have to know first about the possibility of another path than our ego’s position.  Once we know we can get out, then we hold space for the possibility that something could be better.  We don’t have to know exactly what that is.  We just need to play the role of having the willingness to see that we have options.  This realization then leads us to the natural next step which is being free to choose among those alternatives.

Once we have identified that the choices are possible, our next logical step is to choose peace.  Ultimately it is the only way to achieve our happiness.  We just have to know that when we choose peace everything else becomes easy.  We have perfectly good reason to do so because we want to be happy above all else.  We simply need to take responsibility for the quality of our own life.  We need to remain committed to our own joy and peace and live the discipline through which we have learned how to choose without fail.
