Lesson 3: “I do not understand anything I see in this room (on this street, from this window, from this place.)”

This lesson says, “The point of the exercises is to help you clear your mind of all past associations, to see things exactly as they are now, and realize how little you really understand about them.” 

We want to be right there in the moment because this is where God is.

The present moment is where we feel free to be there, because we are not judging the picture. 

The present moment is the ideal place we want to be, because it is the way we have direct access to God’s energy and flow in the perfect Universal flow of God’s energy.

Being in the moment is also the place where we are most happy because we are with God, and also because the present moment is where we are not mired in attack  thoughts in the form of our judgement about the past or the future.

We can experience the extraordinary quality of the elevated energy in the moment when we stay clear of finding problems in the past and future.

Whenever we allow the past to direct how we see the present, then, automatically we escalate the nightmare and make the present some repeat of the past.

The Course just invites us to get to the present moment- which is the miraculous moment where we can intercede on behalf of what we really want instead- the happy dream. 

When we come to the present and we make the decision to choose other than some past terrible choice, then, we end up making a present that is clear and beautiful and extraordinary.

The moment is where we can truly be alive and consciously choose what we actually want. 

This is why being in the present is always the place we want to be, because it is where we can choose again, however many times we want to choose again.

We have such amazing capacity, when we are willing to come to the present empty handed, and with a committed heart in choosing God’s miraculous purpose.  

We have the capacity to make all fo our dreams come true. We just need to be willing to choose something else instead of the ego’s opinion, attitude, and will.

We first need to understand that we are the ones who make our reality how it is in the way we see things. 

This is our wake up call.

This is our chance to totally transform our lives. 

We just need to be willing to be open to the idea that we are wrong about what we think we see in the world.

That openness is what ultimately gives us the momentum to get above the battleground and choose thoughts that are more suitable for the life we desire to have in the deepest way.

We are asked to surrender that old pull we have to believing we are right about all we see. 

This is an illusion with no basis.  The truth is that all we see simply appears to be a picture in the illusion, which is actually false.
