Lesson 316: “What is the Last Judgement?” “All gifts I give my brothers are my own.”
This lesson says, “Yet I trust that You Who gave them will provide me the means by which I can behold them, see their worth, and cherish only them as what I want.”
We are learning through the Course how to let God in. When we allow God to write our reality then we find it all filled with comfort and peace. We may not understand the world when we look at it with the ego’s lens. We may stumble when trying to interpret the world. We may have little information about what we need to do there.
But we must practice giving God all of our attention and focus in letting God be the creator of our realities.
It can feel baffling to live when we have no idea how to proceed in a way that is good for us and will make us happy.
We may struggle finding a path that feels appropriate and comfortable for us.
The Course reminds us that God has the answer. The Holy Spirit is the only guide we are meant to have. The Holy Spirit gives us gentle and yet clear guidance about how we want to do things. We need to trust that He knows what is good for us.
This can be difficult and we struggle with the weightiness of the task of trusting.
Trusting is what leads us to instant and forever joy and peace.
This is why we are meant to do it.
It is strictly for our benefit.
When we trust, we accept things and we feel peaceful about what we see because we can remember that God planned it as it is.
The experience of trust feeds our own hearts because when we trust God we are no longer resisting the present.
This is why we feel so good when we trust.
We are doing it for the good of ourselves and we do it for the good of all we encounter.
They energetically also feel our trust in God.
When we feel aligned energetically, we have a strong and resilient equanimity.
The Course invites us to do all this emotional work and be vigilant for our own purposes. This is the way to heal ourselves.
We need to include ourselves in the healing since we are as important as anyone else.
We just need to remember this when we forget.
