Laurie’s Positive Points: Making habits

Laurie’s Positive Points

Making habits:

Last week I wrote about developing discipline, and how it is the force in the factory of our minds, where we give permission for something novel and handy to be created for our lives.

Since we get to make our lives as we see fit, this discipline is the might underneath the practical application of building habits.

We want to have customary habits, because when we readily and resolutely have them, then, our lives are way more pleasant and predictable, because we can put them to practical use.

We want to have habits in place that allow us a solid foundation upon which we can function in the way we most desire, and is most appropriate for us.

We want to have a solid foundation with which to engage throughout our waking moments.

Habits become our friends, because they’re what typically require great effort and love throughout the process of forming them.

Habits afford us some way to approach things because they are those inner guides that we have created with God.

We just need to make sure we do our habit-making and habit-living with God,  and we need to make sure they are appropriately aligned with God’s Purpose, which is the Purpose of our own Higher Self.

That is so splendid that we for sure do not to miss out on it.  Furthermore, we need to be able to adapt our habit building.

God is always a part of them ideally, but sometimes the ego is so tenacious, we simply find ourselves suddenly with the ego’s whole scheme actively within us.

The ego is so skilled at sneaking into our consciousness without a single hit of our awareness.

Thus, we need to continually be on guard.

We want to be on guard, catching stray thinking, but with zero attack energy.

The ego quickly tries to distort our being on guard into some attack on the ego for being persistently present. We get upset at the ego and sometimes we are unkind.

But instead, we need- as the guardian of our ego- to simply make sure that we remove any and all of that old attack energy from our requests of the ego.

We want to be firm and consistent in speaking up for our Higher Selves, and insistent that the ego leave immediately.

But never resort to making the ego bad.

That just perpetuates the energetic cycle of violence.

Therefore, we just need to step up and speak to the ego, with respect and kindness, while we are persistent in insisting that the ego disengage from our minds.

Make sure the ego simply becomes unreal to us and has zero impact on us.
