Lesson 119: Review: “Truth will correct all errors in my mind.” “To give and receive are one in truth.”
The words “In truth” means this is the way it is and there are no exceptions. When we say “in truth” it means this is the real deal. There is no other two ways about it. When it says “in truth” we know we are surely getting the correct information. “In truth” to me is like a Godly way of speaking. I don’t generally say “in truth” unless I am talking about the Course. When we say “in truth,” we can be assured that this is the decree of God and therefore it must be an absolutely true statement.
When we realize what is true we can trust that God is the Creator of the situation, then we can relax into the knowing it is a fact indeed. We can not worry any little bit because we will see that this is a direct, certain statement because God is perfect and what God says is a certain way. Then we can simply accept it or learn to accept it. Furthermore, we will stop struggling against our resistance to believing whatever has been decreed. When we are assured that this fact is for certain true, then we can let go of our past need to try to make it another way.
What we find about the Course is that the same common themes keep getting played out. This way, we can focus on a few consistent and regular mental changes. We don’t have to feel overwhelmed by focusing on the many details. The Course makes it as simple as possible to help us change our minds because we don’t want to get bogged down in the philosophy and then miss the practical changes that are the true purpose of the Course. This is fantastic. One of the things we need to learn is that Truth is the force of straightening out our minds. All we have to do is accept the truths about our high esteem and infinite value and utter lovability. These are the truths we must learn so we can appropriately give ourselves feed to implant this then in our minds when we give God the old insane beliefs.
And we can sit with perfect ease in the process of being righted because God tells us that there is never anything wrong. We just thought we sinned and that this was a problem. But all of that was wrong. Fortunately all we have to do is be open to being shown that it was all just a simple error, that we can laugh about, because it was a mistake in our path. Sit in certainty that there was nothing but the gentlest turning away from God for a second and now is simply the time to realize this isn’t what we truly want. Then we return to the memory of peace which never left our minds.
