Lesson 201: Review: “I am not a body.  I am free.  For I am still as God created me.”  “I trust my brothers, who are one with me.”

The Introduction here says, “We merely close our eyes, and then forget all we thought we knew and understood.” 

The Course’s single purpose is to give us reason to get to God. 

We usually think that we have to accomplish a long list of landmarks in our minds before we are able to wander our ways back to God, that we have to make precise movements and elaborate schemes to get ourselves back to a place we are ready to accept God. 

To the ego, getting to God can feel like a crazy maze that is elaborate and complicated and uncertain.  This can then make us wholly anxious, because getting to God, which is our only real desire, suddenly can seem uncertain. 

Then, we can feel seized and crippled with this feeling of dread- not knowing the way we so desire.  

This moment of panic is just the ego’s old map of torment within us, and we just need to see it for what it is, and give it right back to God. 

We want to surrender the ego’s perspective and allow God, through the Holy Spirit’s voice, to be our only guide. 

This willingness to surrender is all we need to do. 

We just need to give up all that old ego insanity.   We just need to give it all to God. 

When we are empty within, then, we are open to be filled by God.

The only problem we have is that we forget how to be empty, and how to get there. 

But the Course says that all we need to do is ask God for all the guidance we need. 

This is the best news we could ever receive.   Being empty is easy, because it is simply the undoing of the ego’s whole slant about things. 

We just need to be willing to be empty.  This is not complicated. 

We just need to feel that willingness to be open.  Our willingness is all we need to move whatever old blocks we may feel within our minds. 

When we simply have willingness, then, our whole minds shift. 

The energy of our willingness is all we need to move the frozen parts of us. 

It is the catalyst that moves whatever mountains we may believe are in us.  

It is as easy as breathing if we let it be. 

With God as our support in the process, then we can relax, and giggle, and be light, and accept the gift of that emptiness within.
