ACIM Lesson 311

Lesson 311: “What is the Last Judgement?”  “I judge all things as I would have them be.”

This lesson says, “Let us not use it today, but make a gift of it to Him Who has a different use for it.”

The Course reminds us that judgement causes us so much pain.

When we allow our minds to get into the grievance cycle, our energy gets inundated with harsh and extreme and seriously painful grievances.

The Course asks us to see our grievances and judgement for what they are, and promptly discard of them.

We are always miserable until we surrender that ego’s judgement completely and finally.  We want to be happy- and that means we must take care to notice that judgement when it comes.

Feeling judgement never feels good and so we are invited to catch this when it comes through our minds and give it to God to remove immediately.

We are asked to make sure that our minds are as clear from that attack energy in the form of judgment as we can be.

When we have these thoughts running through our minds, we can remove them at once.

And if we forget to ask the Holy Spirit for help in the process, we can always try to stay in continual prayer, so that we get used to talking to the Holy Spirit about everything all day long.

Then, we may forget to pray for guidance less often when we just make God our constant companion with whom we chat about everything.

We are asked to surrender our judgment delicately.

One of the basic attributes of the ego is its harshness and dense nature.

It is rigid and inflexible.  When we do anything that has this kind of energy, we are supporting the ego in some energetic way.

We are asked to simply realize that we all have the tendency to get lost occasionally in that ego’s harsh energy. This, we must forgive, and try again with a gentle touch.

We get more gentle with an aligned intention as well as aligned actions that are elevated, light and God centered in essence.

We are ask to just keep trying. We stay at the drawing board as long as necessary.

The good news is that it is just a matter of time before we get more in the hang of being delicate and gentle.

We are asked to just feel great and enjoy the certainty we feel that we know which direction to go, even if we are not as smooth yet.  We are asked to make our judgment a gift to God.

Even though it is fiercely harsh, we still embrace it in the process of dealing with it.

We make it something as precious as a gift in our surrendering process.

We treat that judgment with respect and kindness, even though we remain firm in our discarding process with God where we remove the judgement permanently.
