Lesson 207: Review: “I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.” “ I bless the world because I bless myself.”
The world says that we are the only thing out there. We are the true energy that exists in the world in conjunction with our brothers and sisters who all share in one united energy. The Course says that we are making the world from the reflection of our thoughts. This is why the world seems to be an out picturing of our minds because indeed it is. The world so often simply brings us to the awareness that we need to change something in our own minds.
The Course teaches us to use the world as our mirror. When we see something we don’t like, this is the time to pay attention to what we think and feel. Then include a deep looking into any grievances we might be hiding because invariably these are part of the reason why we see what we see.
God wants us to understand that there is no separation between us and the world because we are making the world we see with our intention projected outward- making situations and peopling the world. The Universe is constructed so we can easily and readily see ourselves when the world shows us anything. When we see a anything in the world, it is necessary that we pay attention to our inner beliefs.
The good news about this is that it is a constant and sure way to keep getting an accurate picture of us. Often the ego likes to bury its feelings- especially grievances- that we often miss what is actually going on within us. The ego pretends that our inner workings simply mean nothing. What God wants us to know is that we can see in the world what is happening within us and thus, give our minds space to heal. This is the beauty of the crazy concept that the world is nothing but our reflection- this is the good news. We want to stop perpetuating our pain so if we take time to authentically feel what we feel then we will feel infinitely better. When we give our minds room to stop creating the problem by denying the pain, then we get to a place at last of peace within.
The reason that we bless the world when we bless ourselves is because we are a reflection of the world. Therefore, automatically the world gets blessed in the gesture of blessing ourselves. We want to share God energy with everyone- even the world. We know the world is not originally from God because God energy is entirely whole and perfect and the world is not. Thus, we need to understand the world is not intrinsically of God. Yet, at the same time the world can carry God energy because God would not be absent from anywhere- because God has supreme power.
Therefore, we simply need to carry these facts simultaneously- that God is never anywhere in the world because God is never present in the world’s insanity and chaos, and that God would never leave us in the world without Him because He loves us so dearly. This way we understand that we are blessed because God so loves us he would walk with us in the world. Therefore, we can actually bless the world with God Love as we carry the God Love within us and extend it outward. All we have to do is understand and believe all of this at once. Then a hefty blessing is afoot because when we bless ourselves we also bless the world which carries our same God energy.
